The service provides rehabilitation for patients with a wide range of neurological conditions including vestibular disorders, head injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease.

We welcome patients from all over the world and each patient has a unique rehabilitation programme to match their own cultural and community needs.

The programme involves initial assessment which incorporates patient priorities and discussion of achievable personal goals. Well established team working allows for regular review of therapy, treatment progression and discharge planning.

Referrals are accepted from Consultants, General Practitioners and Allied Healthcare Professionals.

Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists work with people of all ages, helping them to carry out the activities that they need or want to do in order to lead healthy and fulfilling lives. At the Wellington Hospital we employ 10 occupational therapists within the Rehabilitation Unit (see www.wellingtonrehabunit.com for full details) and a further 4 who provide a service to the acute surgical and medical wards. Our patients are looked after by Senior Consultants, all of whom are at the top of their profession and most hold senior positions in London's renowned teaching hospitals. The other specialist staff members are among the most experienced in the UK at treating the most challenging medical conditions.

The unit itself, which has an international reputation for the excellence of its work, has forty-five purpose-designed en suite rooms, plus extensive therapy areas that include two gyms, a hydrotherapy pool and other areas where patients can practice the skills that will help them return to life at home.

We are recognised as the independent sector's premier centre for the care of patients with neurological conditions including head injuries, spinal cord injuries and strokes. We also provide comprehensive therapy programmes for patients suffering from conditions as varied as amputation, post complex orthopaedic surgery and post critical illness.
